WHO WE ARE
Helping Irish Hosts
Helping Irish Hosts (HIH) arose in direct response to the humanitarian crisis resulting from the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Our founding purpose was to empower and support individuals and communities in Ireland to host displaced people in their homes, safely and sustainably. 2 years on, empowering and supporting guests is equally as important in delivering on our mission to make hosting sustainable.
We are hosts, helping hosts. We have opened our own homes to people seeking refuge and want to help others doing this too. We know that hosting works and that matches last when people have the right infrastructure in place to support them.
Community spirit. Positive change. Welcome. Hope. These are the impacts our actions as hosts are having on the wider community.
